- Results typically start to appear within 2–3 days, with full effect visible around 2 weeks. On average, results last about 3 months, though this can vary depending on dosage, placement, and individual metabolism.
- Avoid massaging or applying pressure to the treated area for the first several hours — this includes wearing tight hats or anything that could press on the area.
- If you’d like to apply makeup, wait at least 2 hours after treatment.
- Refrain from heavy exercise or activities that cause sweating for 24–48 hours.
- Avoid alcohol, NSAIDs, vitamin E, and fish oil before and after treatment, as these can thin the blood and increase the risk of bleeding or bruising.
- Mild redness, irritation, or itchiness at injection sites is common and usually resolves in a few days. If these symptoms persist, contact us.
- Short-term side effects may include discomfort, bruising, redness, headache, swelling, eyelid irritation, or dry eyes — these should resolve within 4–5 days.
- If you experience difficulty breathing, an allergic reaction, chest pain, or any other life-threatening symptoms, call 911 immediately.
- It’s normal to feel some firmness or small lumps in the treated areas for the first few days. These areas will usually soften and “settle” over the next 3 weeks. Avoid rubbing or pressing on them. When cleansing your face or applying makeup, use gentle, sweeping motions.
- Temporary side effects may include mild to moderate swelling, bruising, redness/discoloration, tenderness, lumps/bumps, or itching at injection sites. These are expected to last up to 2 weeks. You may gently apply a cool compress to reduce swelling — just avoid applying pressure.
- Delay all dental procedures and vaccinations for at least 3 weeks after injections.
- Wait at least 6 weeks before undergoing any laser treatments and 1 week before facials or other skincare treatments to reduce the risk of inflammation.
- Avoid heavy exercise or activities that cause sweating for 24–48 hours after treatment.
- Avoid alcohol, NSAIDs, vitamin E, and fish oil before and after treatment, as these thin the blood and increase the risk of bleeding or bruising.
- Seek immediate medical attention if:
- Any treated area turns white or becomes painful after leaving our spa.
- Any area turns blue within 24 hours of your injection.
- These can be signs of vascular occlusion (blocked blood vessel) and require urgent treatment with Hylenex to dissolve the filler and prevent tissue damage.
- If you experience difficulty breathing, an allergic reaction, chest pain, or any other life-threatening symptoms, call 911 immediately.
